Our view of the service
We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 2 October 2024. We found the practice had met regulations all regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. The practice is in Knightsbridge and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. The practice was not step free, but there was a ramp to provide access for wheelchair users or those with prams. The practice was located on the first floor and there were steps and a lift to access it. The lift was not able to accommodate all types of wheelchairs. In the event of access issues the provider had details of other nearby dental practices in the event of someone with mobility problems requiring treatment. Car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice for a paid fee. The practice had 3 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal dentists, 1 dental nurse, and the practice manager.
People's experience of this service
Two weeks before our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us During our assessment, we saw patient feedback from 3 patients. The patients that responded said staff were professional and courteous, they were involved in treatment decisions and the practice was always clean and tidy. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
