During a routine inspection
People were protected from the risks of inadequate nutrition and dehydration. We looked at people's care records and saw arrangements were in place to identify those people at a greater risk of poor nutrition and dehydration. Records showed people received regular drinks and meals.
People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. Staff had received training in safeguarding. When asked, staff showed a clear understanding of the different types of abuse and who they would report concerns to.
Staff received appropriate professional development.
The provider had systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service people received. Checks were carried out by the manager and staff within the home. Records showed audits were carried out in a wide range of areas including incidents and accidents, food, medication, the environment, infection control and mattresses.
