Comments the provider received in a survey about the care and treatment included, 'The best holiday dialysis experience I have had so far- excellent' and 'Wonderful place, wonderful people, will be back again'.
People had individualised care plans that detailed the treatment they required. We found that these were an accurate reflection of the treatment they received. People were involved in the process and understood what care was needed. Information on a person's past medical history and medicines had been obtained prior to commencing treatment.
There was enough equipment to promote the independence and comfort of people who used the service. We saw that chairs used for dialysis were recliners; this meant people were able to sleep if they wanted to in a comfortable position and duvets were provided.
The provider had suitable systems in place to monitor the quality of service provision.

People were protected from the risk of infection by processes followed by the service. There was sufficient hand cleansing facilities available for use and were used by staff. Staff had protective clothing and one person confirmed this was used during their treatment. The service's policies detailed procedures needed to prevent cross infection and included risk assessments to aid with decontamination of equipment.
Equipment used for dialysis was routinely checked and maintained to ensure it was working correctly. Staff were suitably qualified to carry out their role and had received regular refresher training, to ensure their practice was current and up to date.
Records related to the running of the service were kept securely and were located promptly when needed. The information in the records was current and up to date.
