Tudor Manor

Date of assessment 28 August 2024 to 5 September 2024. Tudor Manor is a ‘care home’ providing personal care and support to older people and people living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting 15 people with their personal care needs. Tudor Manor was last rated Inadequate (Published 11 November 2023). The report was published following CQC’s previous inspection approach using Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), prompts and ratings characteristics. This assessment has been completed following the Care Quality Commissions (CQC) new approach to assessment; Single Assessment Framework (SAF). On this assessment we found concerns, systems and processes were not always effective in responding to risk. Records lacked detail and monitoring. This was a breach in Regulation 12 (Safe care and treatment) and Regulation 17 (Good governance).

At the time of assessment most people and relatives were positive around the care they received. 1 person told us, “Things have improved, I even get honey on my porridge now”. Some people and relatives told us areas they still felt needed to be improved. 1 person told us,” It’s alright, I have eventually settled in”. Another person told us, “I usually wait ten minutes for staff to arrive when I press the buzzer. They can’t come quickly, there’s not enough of them”. Health professionals and partners involved in the care home all had positive feedback around how the service works in partnership. Partners also told us how much the quality of care had improved since the last inspection.
