Our view of the service
The Oaks is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 113 people. The service provides support to older people, people living with dementia and people with mental health needs. At the time of our assessment there were 61 people using the service. At our last inspection of the service (published 11 January 2024). The overall rating for the service was 'Inadequate' and the service was placed into 'special measures' from September 2023. We identified breaches in relation to nutrition and hydration, person-centred care, safe care and treatment, staff training and good governance. We carried out this assessment to check whether improvements had been made. We found that significant improvements had been made at the service. The provider demonstrated improvements have been made. It is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in special measures.
People's experience of this service
During the assessment, we spoke with 7 people who used the service and 4 relatives. People and their relatives told us they thought the service was safe. They thought they received a good quality of care and support from the service.
