During a routine inspection
We talked with four of the people who used the service. People told us that they were comfortable and liked living there. One person told us, 'It's OK, I'd rather be at home, but I can't manage anymore.' Another person told us that staff were, 'So kind."
Some of the people who lived at Manor Farm Care Home were living with dementia and were unable to tell us about the quality of care they received. We were able to talk with some people but, to enable us to better access people's wellbeing, we spent time sitting with them observing the care they received and the level of staff interaction.
Staff were attentive to people's needs. Staff interacted with people in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. We saw that staff sought people's agreement before providing any support or assistance.
We found that staff were supported through supervision and that they received training essential for caring for older people. We talked with three staff members, they were knowledgeable about the people they supported.
We saw that the provider had systems and procedures in place to regularly monitor and assess the quality of the service provided. We also looked at the way that complaints were recorded and dealt with, and saw that they were handled in line with the provider's policy.
