At the time of the inspection there was no registered manager in post. In this report the name of a registered manager appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time off the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time. We spoke with seven people who used the service, the relatives of four people, the assistant manager and five staff. People who used the service expressed satisfaction with the care and service that they received. One person told us, “They treat me like a queen, I have no complaints.” One of the relatives we spoke with told us, “It is very homely and staff are very caring.”
Where able, people could make their own day to day decisions and lifestyle choices. They could choose to sit in the lounges or spend time in their rooms. We saw people could maintain contact with their friends and family.
We saw there was a friendly and relaxed atmosphere between people living and working at the home. We observed staff interacting well with people and supporting them which had a positive impact on their wellbeing. People's views were taken into account in the assessment and care planning process.
The environment was clean and systems were in place to ensure maintenance was carried out.
Appropriate arrangements were in place for the recruitment of staff.
A complaints procedure was in place that was accessible to people and their relatives.
