During an inspection in response to concerns
We received positive comments from all the people we spoke with about the staff who they told were kind and respectful. One person who felt, 'Safe and secure,' told us that, 'Staff are very kind, all very nice, nothing they won't do for you or try.'
When we asked people if they were able to choose when they got up or went to bed they told us they normally could. One person told us, 'I think (staff) are very caring, there is no pressure,' to fall in with the service's routines.
However, we identified where people who required repositioning or continence care were at risk of having their sleep routines disturbed. This was because staff had taken the opportunity to give people a full wash early in the morning, rather than provide the minimal care required at that time. Action was taken by the registered manager during our inspection to ensure the practice was stopped unless the person requested it.
We found that service was well led, that people were supported with their nutritional needs and that people were cared for in a clean environment.
