During a routine inspection

We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of the people living at 63 Watley's End Road. We reviewed records and systems; we spoke with all of the people living at the home and spent time with people in their rooms and in the communal lounge. We observed interaction between staff and the people living in the home.

We saw staff talking with people who used the service about their day to day activities and choices and relationships appeared to be warm and caring. When we spoke with staff they demonstrated a sound understanding of the needs of the people in their care.

People were effectively assisted to take their medicines safely and were supported in their lives by enough suitable staff.

People said they felt safe living at 63 Watley's End Road and they knew how to raise concerns if they had them. People told us if they had any concerns they would speak with the manager or their families. People told us "I like the staff, they are good and kind".

During a routine inspection

There was a happy, relaxed atmosphere in 63 Watleys End Road. We spoke to one person in their own room in order to speak with them in private. We also spoke with people in communal areas of the house and saw staff interacted in a caring way that people responded to. People said they were happy at the home, one person told us 'I like it here' another told us 'I like the staff'.

All of the people we spoke with said they were happy with the service they received. They all indicated to us that they knew about the complaints procedure and said they would be able to speak with someone if they were unhappy.

Staff we spoke with believed that people were treated well by the team and they had no concerns about the safety of people receiving a service. Staff were motivated, caring and positive about working at 63 Watleys End Road
