During a routine inspection
During our inspection visit we observed that support workers gained people's consent before and during any care and support was provided. We saw people were offered choices with drinks, food, where they sat and what they wanted to do. Where people did not have the capacity to consent, the provider acted in accordance with legal requirements.
People chose what to eat and had a variety of appropriate meals and drinks to meet their needs. When we asked about the food, one person said, "I like it."
We found that support workers were knowledgeable about the medication they were administering and saw records to show people received their medication as prescribed by a doctor.
There were two support workers and usually a manager in the home each day. At night there was one support worker. People we spoke with seemed relaxed with the support workers present when we visited.
There were no records of any complaints made during the last year.
