During a routine inspection
We did ask the person who uses the service if they felt that they were being looked after, and they said 'yes'. As other verbal communication was limited, we used observation instead for many of the judgements that we made in this report.
SENSE has a commitment to training and supervision of staff. In this way they can make sure that the staff team have the knowledge, experience and expertise needed to meet the needs of the people who use the service.
All the records and documentation that we looked at, was detailed, up to date and accurate. In this way, the home is making sure that it is transparent in the work that it is doing with people who use the service, and that they can continue to meet the changing needs of individuals.
People who use the service at Foxley Lane are helped to live ordinary and meaningful lives. They use community facilities; go swimming, cinema or for a meal out. Contact with family is encouraged.
The area that the home could improve upon is making the environment more homely and comfortable. We have asked that the home to provide use with a improvement plan about how this can be achieved.
We would like to thank the person who uses the service at Foxley Lane, the staff and in particular the acting manager, for their time and co-operation during this inspection.
