During a routine inspection
At the time of our inspection the service only provided support to one person in their own home. There were plans to extend this to support other people as and when needs were identified and systems were being put in place for this.
We found that the people were involved in making decisions about their care and staff treated them with respect, promoting their independence and enabling them to access community services as they wished.
People's individual needs and wishes were assessed and support plans had been recorded for them. These plans provided information for staff when they visited people and ensured their individual needs would be met. When we spoke with staff they told us about the support they provided to the person they cared for and this matched the information in their support plans.
There were effective recruitment processes in place to ensure that appropriately skilled staff were employed at the service.
Staff we spoke with had a good understanding about safeguarding people from abuse and the action they should take if they had any concerns about the people they cared for. In addition to this there were arrangements for people to raise any concerns they may have about the service.
