During a routine inspection
One person told us they would like to be involved in their care planning. They told us they had not seen a copy of their care plan and it had not been discussed with them.
People we were able to speak with told us that they are happy living in the home. One person told us how they like to go around to other people to offer them fruit and take their menu choices. They also enjoyed laying the tables for meals and taking another person's dog outside. They went out to the local shop with a staff member.
People who live in the home told us that they feel safe.
We asked people about the staff who work in the home. People told us 'staff are kind and friendly', 'they're very pleasant' and 'some staff are better than others'.
We asked about the staffing levels in the home and the staff's knowledge. People told us 'there are enough staff on duty', 'I sometimes have to wait', and 'staff need more training'.
We asked people who live in the home how they can give feedback about the quality of the service. One person told us about how people are involved in 'residents' meetings.
The Care Quality Commission received concerns in relation to peoples' choices and infection control. We carried out a planned review and followed the concerns up at the same time. Further detail is contained within this report.
