During a routine inspection
People receiving the service had a written plan of care which was periodically reviewed and amended if necessary. One person said 'I enjoy going out, I like to go bowling, to the disco and to the pub'.
There were positive comments about the staff. The people we spoke with told us 'I am happy with the care, the staff are good, helpful and friendly'. One parent told us the staff were dedicated, friendly and managed to stimulate their child. They said they were happy with the consistency of staff, however, felt that when people from the core team took leave the backup staff weren't always as trained as they could be. The registered manager told us staff were now being rotated to ensure continuity of care.
There were appropriate quality monitoring processes to help the service provide consistent care of a good quality.
There was an effective complaints system available. None of the people we spoke with had raised a compliant but felt minor issues were dealt with effectively. There were appropriate systems in place to archive, retain and destroy any records.
