All Inspections

26 June 2013

During a routine inspection

We inspected Willowmoore on a planned unannounced inspection which meant the service did not know we were coming. We were unable to speak to people who used the service due to their complex needs.

In this report the name of a registered manager appears. They were not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this service at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time. The new manager told us that they are in the process of registering themselves.

One person was using the service when we inspected, they appeared happy and relaxed. We looked to see if people consented to their care, treatment and support and found that people were encouraged to make choices in their care as much as they were able to.

We found that people's care and welfare needs were being met through comprehensive care plans and care delivery.

We spoke with two members of staff who told us they were happy working at Willowmoore and felt supported to fulfil their role effectively.

We found that the service had systems in place to ensure equipment was safe and suitable for its intended use.

We saw that the service had a complaints procedure which was available to people that used the service or their relatives.

Willowmoore was compliant in the five outcome areas we looked at.

3 December 2012

During a routine inspection

We visited Willowmoore on a planned unannounced inspection which meant the service did not know we were coming.

We spoke with staff about the care and support they provide each day; they offered an explanation of people's individual needs. We looked at a selection of care records to check the care being given to people. We saw the records were informative, based on the preferences of the individual and were updated on a regular basis.

Staff told us and we saw systems were in place to protect people from the risk of harm.

We saw that systems were in place to monitor and check the quality of the service.

Staff told us of the flexible approach to ensure the appropriate levels of staff were available to fully meet the needs of each individual person who used the service.
