During a routine inspection
People using the service were involved in regular residents meetings where they participate in decision making around the day to day running of the home. Residents had personalised plans and were supported to access healthcare services. The home has sound medication practises, but not all staff were trained in first aid or fire safety.
A variety of nutritious meals was provided, and residents told us that they enjoyed these. We found that the home needed to improve its food hygiene practises.
Residents knew about the homes complaints procedure and felt safe and listened to. However, the home did not record verbal complaints including their investigation and outcome.
People using the service benefited from a clean and hygienic home. However, the environment is tired and worn and major refurbishment works are planned to address this.
