Date of Assessment: 07 August to 1 October 2024. This service has been in Special Measures since 17 November 2023. The provider demonstrated improvements have been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures. The service is no longer in breach of regulations. We assessed all quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions and found significant improvement had been made to address the concerns we found at the last inspection. The assessment of these 34 quality statements indicated areas of good and improved practice since the last inspection. The overall rating has now improved to good. Risks to people were adequately mitigated as governance systems and audits were effective in identifying and addressing areas for improvement. The management team had an accurate and up to date picture of risk across the service at any one time. People received their medicines on time and in a safe way. For people who were prescribed PRN medicines (as and when required), protocols were in place to ensure people received these appropriately. Policies and practices were in place to help ensure people were protected from the risk of harm and abuse. There were enough staff to ensure people’s safety and meet their needs. People were supported by staff who were kind and caring. The service was clean and well maintained. Staff were trained in effective infection, prevention and control procedures and had access to adequate supplies of PPE. People were supported to have choice and control and could give feedback on their care. People’s care plans were detailed, person-centred and contained up to date guidance for staff to follow. Where people required care from external agencies, the service supported people to access this to help ensure people received the best possible outcomes for their care and support needs.
