During an inspection in response to concerns
When we visited the home on 23 June 2011 we asked a person, who had the ability to speak with us if they were well cared for. They told us that they were.
They told us that the food at the home was good and they got too much sometimes. Another person was not easily able to communicate with us but we saw over lunch that the different parts of their main course were made into separate pureed amounts on the dinner plate. We asked if the food was alright and they nodded. They ate all of it but so slowly that it was cold before they finished it.
Three people in the dining room that day could not eat for themselves. They were assisted and encouraged to eat by staff. They were helped respectfully and sensitively, staff sat next to them to help them. They too took a long time to eat the meal and the food on their plates was cold before they finished it.
We asked a resident who was able to speak to us if the home was kept clean and they said they thought it was.
