During a routine inspection
We found that people who use the service, and staff and visitors were protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable premises. One person said, 'I feel very much at home, you've only got to report it and it's seen to.' Another person said, 'I have my room loaded with...'just how I like it.' One member of staff said, 'Repairs are done as soon as they can be done.'
We found that appropriate recruitment checks were undertaken before staff began work. Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately. The people that we spoke with told us they knew how to raise a concern or complaint and said, 'I wouldn't change anything here it's really lovely'..they're (staff) marvellous and if I had a complaint they'd help me.' Another person said, 'I've no reason not to be happy and contented.'
We found that records were kept securely and could be located promptly when needed. Staff that we spoke with told us the various reasons why they kept records, one staff member said, 'So that we can have a check, so that there is a paper trail to be able to follow.'
