During a routine inspection
During our inspection we saw evidence that people's nutritional requirements were assessed and managed in line with their needs, and that these were reviewed on a regular basis.
We looked at the environment to ensure people were protected against the risks associated with unsafe or unsuitable premises. A recent refurbishment of the home had been completed and we saw many improvements as a result of this.
We spoke with three staff on duty who all told us they enjoyed working at Puttenhoe Residential Care Home. They said they felt supported by the manager and deputy manager, and the staffing numbers were adequate to meet people's needs.
We reviewed the systems in place for managing complaints should they arise, and saw that clear procedures provided guidance for people living in the home, relatives and staff.
