During a routine inspection
For the majority of people using the service English is not the first language used but this is not a barrier to communication in this home. Staff employed are representative of the group of those that they care for. They share similar cultural backgrounds, and are able to talk to residents in their mother tongue with Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati and Bengali among the many languages spoken.
Staff are trained and skilled to deliver a person centred service that people need to meet their needs. They work closely with the health professionals to enable people experience good healthcare.
People find that staff are respectful and treat them in a dignified manner. Practices empower people of all religious beliefs to live together in harmony. Islam, Sikhism, Buddhism and Hinduism are some of the religious beliefs observed, and actively celebrated in the home.
