Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
By 24 December 2020 the Registered Provider must ensure a review of the safety of the passenger lift and the current safety of the electrical system, fire extinguishers and the gas boiler has been carried out by a competent, suitably qualified person. By 24 December 2020, 12pm, the Registered Provider must confirm in writing to CQC the findings of the review and any completed actions or remedial work carried out by competent, suitably qualified persons.
By 24 December 2020 the Registered Provider must ensure that COVID-19 risk assessments at Cleveleys Nursing Home are carried out to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19 within the home. The Registered Provider must carry out collective and individual risk assessments for service users and staff. The Registered Provider must also carry out risk assessments of the environment, for service user admissions and discharges, and for people visiting the home.
Risk assessments must include
a) The date of assessment
b) What the risks are to the person or group of people being assessed and who might be harmed
c) Specific actions needed to reduce risks, how their effectiveness will be monitored, and how the Registered Provider will ensure risk assessments stay accurate and up to date
d) A named person who will carry out or be responsible for any action needed
e) The date actions are to be carried out by
f) How the Registered Provider will ensure any improvements are maintained
g) The name of the person monitoring, the frequency of monitoring and date.
By 24 December 2020, 12pm, the Registered Provider must send a copy of the updated COVID-19 risk assessments to CQC.

The Registered Provider must ensure that by 24 December 2020 a cleaning schedule is implemented to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 and other infections at Cleveleys Nursing Home. A copy of the cleaning schedule must be sent to CQC by 24 December 2020, 12pm.
The Registered Provider must ensure that by 24 December 2020 all staff have received training in infection prevention and control. This training must be in line with current Government and Public Health guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Training must include donning and doffing of PPE and the monitoring of people who live at the home for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, staff and visitors’ screening processes relating to COVID-19. In addition, the Registered Provider must ensure that all staff have had training in the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and the action to take, and also training in effective hand hygiene and waste disposal. By 24 December 2020, 12pm, the Registered Provider must confirm in writing to CQC that all staff have completed the training.
The Registered Provider must ensure that by 24 December 2020 effective governance systems are in place to monitor and reduce the risk and spread of infection. The Registered Provider must include the monitoring of environmental cleanliness, staff hand hygiene, wearing of PPE and adherence to the cleaning schedule. Auditing systems must detail the name, role and responsibilities of those identified to carry out audits and checks to monitor adherence to the risk control measures in place.
