During a routine inspection
We saw that people had a good rapport with staff. People were encouraged to be as independent as possible and were able to spend their time as they wished. Staff assisted people appropriately and in an unhurried way.
People we spoke with were happy living at The Mews. One person who had recently moved into the home described it as 'Excellent'. Other people commented; 'It's a nice place', 'I like it here', 'My visitors can come when they want' and 'There's always plenty of things going on'.
Individual care records were in place directing staff in the delivery of people's care and support.
Suitable arrangements were in place with regards to safeguarding and protecting the rights of people.
A safe system was in place for the management and administration of people's prescribed medication.
On-going training and support was made available to assist and develop the staff team. Staff spoken with said the Manager was 'approachable' and that there was 'good team work' within the home.
Systems to monitor and review the quality of service provided had been developed. This information helped to identify where the service could be improved further.
