The overall rating for the key question of safe remained the same. We rated safe as good. We looked at 4 quality statements in surgery services in safe and these scores combined with the scores for safe from the last inspection. The service managed patient safety incidents well. Staff understood how to protect patients from abuse, had training on how to recognise and report abuse and worked well with other agencies to do so. Improvements had been made since our last inspection, and managers ensure staff received appropriate training on mental capacity deprivation of liberty safeguards. Staff completed and updated risk assessments for each patient and managed risks appropriately. The design and use of facilities kept people safe. However, we found some areas of improvement with how the service recorded and reported faults and repairs. We have requested an action plan to address these issues and ensure compliance with standards.
