This assessment took place between 21 March and 3 May 2024. Little Angels Homecare is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care services to people in their own homes. The service specialises in providing care for older adults. During this assessment we looked at parts of 5 key questions, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. We identified breaches in regulations of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. There was not an effective governance system in place to monitor and improve the quality of care and safety of the service. Quality assurance processes were either not happening or had not been effective in identifying the issues we found. Medicines were not always managed safely because they were not recorded accurately, and staff had not received a medicines competency assessment. Recruitment checks were not being safely completed and there was lack of evidence of staff completing required training to complete their jobs safely. Risks to people's care were well managed and appropriate actions taken, however we found examples where risk assessments and records of care provided required further detail. There were enough staff in place to meet people’s needs.
