Our view of the service
Stafford Hall is a residential care home providing accommodation with personal care for up to 40 people. The service provides care to older people. An unannounced site visit to the home was carried out on 17 June 2024. At the time of our assessment 28 people were being supported with personal care at the service. The registered manager made significant improvements around staffing and governance of the service since our last inspection. The provider was no longer in breach of regulations in safe staffing and good governance at the point of this assessment. The rating at our last inspection (published 08 December 2022) was requires improvement. At this assessment we found the service had improved and the rating is now good based on the review of the quality statements in Safe, Caring, responsive and Well-Led only.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives told us they felt safe in the home and with staff. One person enjoying the garden said, “all my worries drift away sitting here.” Another person said, “it has its ups and downs but on the whole this place is lovely, I have a lovely room and we made the decorations." We observed lots of interactions between staff and supported people. There were meaningful activities taking place. One person said, “Its lively in the morning and quietens in the afternoon, when people like to rest.”
