During a routine inspection
People who were receiving the service had their needs assessed and regularly reviewed. The way in which their needs were to be met were well documented and updated if necessary. Care was provided by a consistent team of care staff who were kept up-to-date with the needs of the people they visited.
Care staff were trained in what to do if they were concerned about any of the people who they were visiting. People who used the service told us that they felt safe with the care staff who visited them. The service had systems in place to minimise the risk of abuse or exploitation going unnoticed or not being investigated.
New care workers were only started with the service after a rigorous recruitment and vetting process had been completed.
Staff were trained to undertake the tasks expected of them. People using the service spoke very positively about the attitude and competency of the staff who visited them. Staff were well supported by the service both in a structured, formal way and through advice, guidance and support being available at all times.
The service had a range of quality monitoring processes in place. These helped to ensure that people using the service had a positive experience of it.
