During a routine inspection
We were told that staff were kind and helpful. One person said, "You can't fault their attitude." Most of the people we asked said that staff understood what care they needed and supported them well. Those people we asked said that staff looked after their health and made sure that they saw a doctor if they were unwell. Some people told us that there were not always enough staff and one said that this sometimes affected their preferences about personal care routines.
We heard mixed comments about the food. For example, one person said that the food had improved considerably but someone else said, "The food is not always as I would like."
One person told us that they felt safe at Diamond House, another said that they would feel able to talk to the manager if they had any concerns.
Everyone we spoke to said that Diamond House was clean and comfortable. One person told us they liked their bedroom and a family carer liked that their relative had an en-suite bathroom.
People told us that they knew that staff kept written records about them but they had not seen them. One person told us that they believed that their records were confidential.
