During a routine inspection
Relatives we spoke with were happy with the quality of care their family member received, and felt that staff kept them up to date with important events. One commented, 'Whenever dad deteriorates they ring me straight away'.
We received particularly good comments about the home's manager from people living in the home, as well as from relatives and visiting health care professionals. One visiting nurse reported, 'Jo (the manager) has worked hard to really turn the place around, it's so much better than it was previously'. Another nurse commented, 'Jo always goes above and beyond what's expected and we have a really good working relationship with the home as a result'. One relative stated, 'Whenever I have a concern Jo sorts it out very quickly'.
One social worker told us she had visited the home recently to undertake some annual placement reviews for people living there and had been 'really impressed' by the quality of their care plans. However, one visiting community psychiatric nurse reported that telephone messages did not always get passed to the people who needed to receive them.
