People expressed their views and were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment. One person we spoke to said, "This is my home and I like living here." We spoke with three people who told us that they are involved on a daily basis with the care and support the staff give them. They told us that they had a choice of food and were able to go to bed and get up when they wished .During the visit we inspected the care plans and assessments of four people who used the service. We saw that the plans had been completed with personalised information about how care needs should be met. We spoke with two support workers during the visit, who demonstrated a good understanding of people's needs and how they should be met.
We looked at staff training records and found that all staff had received mandatory training during induction. One member of staff we spoke to said "The training is phenomenal this is a great place to work and I'm proud how well the home works".
People's complaints were fully investigated and resolved, where possible to their satisfaction. The complaints procedure was available on the notice board next to the office.
During our inspection we found that people were not protected against all risks associated with the unsafe use and management of medicines. This was because controlled drugs were not stored safely and the administration of medicines was carried out but not recorded correctly.
