During a routine inspection
We spoke with seven people staying at the home, two visitors, six staff and the manager who assisted us with the inspection. People told us that staff were 'marvellous', 'polite' and 'very kind'. They said the home was kept very clean. We noticed if any issue was mentioned it was quickly addressed by staff. One person, new to the home, told us they would like an early cup of tea. Staff immediately responded by saying it could be arranged.
Documentation held in people's personal files was in the process of change. New detailed personalised support plans were in development. People told us they had been consulted about the care they needed. Care plans were person centred and written in the first person, but there was no evidence of that individual's involvement in care files.
We found there was an extensive internal audit system in place which monitored every aspect of a person's care and meant that people could be confident of a commitment which delivered a quality service.
Staff were observed to be friendly and responsive. They were well trained and well supported to provide the care and support needed.
