Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this. People told us staff enabled them to make their own decisions and choices. Some people accessed the local community without support. A person commented, “I choose what I want to do.”
Staff supported people in line with needs and preferences. They involved people as much as possible to help ensure they received personalised care. One staff member said, "[The support] is very structured to meet [person’s] needs. They are fully involved in personal care.” They went on to tell us because of this the person had a much better quality of life.
People and relatives had opportunities to provide feedback about the care provided, including regular reviews. This helped to make sure support was personalised to each person’s specific needs.
