During a routine inspection
We therefore observed members of staff caring for people; looked at care records; talked with staff about their role; and saw all areas of the home.
We found that people are cared for with patience, dignity, respect, and kindness. We saw that members of staff knew the people they care for well and understood their needs and made sure that they were met. We found that care plans were detailed and thorough, but as day-to-day records to work with, held too much information to make them easily accessible and manageable.
The home was light and airy with decorations and objects designed to provide a stimulus for people who live there. Each person's bedroom was personalised and the home had photographs of the people living there enjoying outings and events. The carpets were worn in some areas, and, we were told, were due for replacement shortly with more appropriate floor coverings. Some of the bathrooms in the home had not recently had a deep clean and some ventilation outlets were dirty. One of the toilet seats needed replacing.
