Our view of the service
Mulberry House is a nursing home. Mulberry House was managed by trained and supportive managers who knew people and their staff. Staff knew people well and were trained to care for people safely. There were processes in place to keep people safe and to manage risk. Medicines were stored and administered safely. Healthcare professionals liaised with the care team to keep people well. We carried out this assessment between 26 February to 10 March 2024. We looked at 5 quality statements; safe systems pathways and transitions, involving people to manage risk, safe and effective staffing, medicine optimisation and freedom to speak up.
People's experience of this service
People at Mulberry House were living with a range of health needs, for example, diabetes and heart disease. The service also supported people living with an acquired brain injury, this could be due to an accident, or health related such as a stroke. People were happy and told us they felt safe at the home. People’s mental and physical health were managed and we saw friendly and happy interactions between staff and people at the home. People had their medicines reviewed by appropriate staff to ensure medicines suited people’s needs.
