During an inspection in response to concerns
People that were able told us that overall they were happy living at the home and satisfied with the care and support they were receiving. People said:
'It's nice here'.
'The staff are good'.
'It's alright here'.
Relatives said that they were satisfied with the support provided to their loved ones and were always made to feel welcome at the home when they visited. Relatives said they felt the standard of care provided and the staffing levels at Dalewood View had both improved over the last few months.
We found in the main that staff members through interaction and care treated people with respect, dignity and maintained their privacy. We observed several examples where different staff members talked to people using appropriate means of verbal and non verbal communication by utilising appropriate posture, eye contact and touch.
Some concerns were raised over one member of staff's comments that did not uphold people's privacy and dignity.
