Date of Assessment: 5 December to 18 December 2024. The service is a care at home service providing support to adults in an assisted living development within privately owned, self-contained apartments. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of the assessment 3 people were receiving support with personal care. This was the first assessment for this service. Systems in place promoted safe care. Staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities. Risks to individuals and staff were well managed. Staff were recruited safely and received the training and support they needed to carry out their roles effectively. Medicines were managed and administered safely. People’s needs were assessed and regularly reviewed with them. People, and where needed their relatives, were involved in all decisions about their care. Care records were person-centred and detailed what was important to and for the person. They gave detail to staff on what support people needed, what people could do for themselves and how their independence could be promoted. Staff and managers knew people very well. They placed great importance on ensuring people’s care and support met each individuals needs and preferences. There was a range of quality monitoring and auditing to ensure oversight and continued improvement of the service. The registered manager had a positive approach towards learning and ongoing development. Staff spoke positively about the registered manager and working at the service. One said, “I love it here, it’s amazing. [Registered manager] is very easy to talk with and all the staff are brilliant. I can’t fault it.”
