During a routine inspection
One person said, "My relative settled very quickly and is well looked after. The assessment that was completed before coming here was very good and I was involved in the planning of the care right from the outset."
The care plans we viewed were very detailed and informative and contained a person's likes and dislikes across a range of preferences. A relative said, "The staff here go beyond the call of duty and are very attentive."
When we looked at safeguarding people from abuse, we found that the provider had arrangements in place to protect people using the service. All staff had been appropriately trained and were aware of the procedure to follow should an incident have occurred. Relatives we spoke to said that it was a safe place to live.
We looked at staffing levels and the qualifications they held. We found that there were sufficient numbers of qualified staff to care for people and their training was monitored regularly. Relatives we spoke with told us that staffing levels were sufficient to meet the needs of people.
We also found that the provider had systems in place to monitor the quality of the service provided and this included learning from adverse incidents in order to identify areas for improvement.
