Our view of the service
The assessment took place on 17 December 2024. We brought forward this assessment due to concerns that had been raised around the safe delivery of care for people. Prudent Domiciliary Care Limited provides care to people in their own homes. At the previous Assessment in July 2024, we found people were not being protected from the risk of abuse and neglect. We found on this assessment improvements had been made. We found 3 repeated breaches of the legal regulations in relation to staffing, safe care and treatment and governance. Staff understood the risks associated with people’s care however the guidance in people’s risk assessment was not sufficiently detailed. There was a lack of accident and incident analysis however staff dealt with incidents in a safe way. The timings around when people’s calls were to take place were not consistent. However, there were no missed calls which was an improvement since the last assessment. There were more audits taking place however it was not always clear what actions had been taken as a result of the shortfalls identified. This service has been in Special Measures since September 2024. The provider demonstrated improvements that have been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures.
People's experience of this service
While the people we spoke with expressed they were happy with their care provided by staff, our assessment found elements of the care did not meet the expected standards. People did not always know the times staff were going to arrive which they told us at times had an impact on how they planned their day. People felt safe with staff and felt the risks associated with their care was managed well.
