During a routine inspection
We observed that people using the service had a good relationship with staff, who understood people's needs and supported them in a kind, friendly and respectful manner. Relatives said that their family members liked living at Tudor Rose. They said comments such as, 'They are happy together, they are like sisters together', '[Person X] thinks of Tudor Rose as her home,' and 'I cannot think of a better place for her to be.' Relatives said that if they had any concerns or problems they would call the registered manager and they were confident the issue would be responded to appropriately.
From talking with staff, observing care, looking at care records and talking with one person using the service, we found that people were supported to make to develop their independence as much as possible and to make their own decisions about their care. People's needs were assessed and risks associated with their care and welfare were identified and managed. Their care was reviewed regularly.
The home was staffed with a regular team of staff, most of whom had worked at the service for a long time. They were supported through regular supervision and appraisals, and most had completed their mandatory training.
