During a routine inspection
We spoke with parents of children or young people who were receiving a service, comments received were very positive and one said that "the carers now are brilliant". We were told that the staff were very well trained by the service and given additional training by qualified staff from another agency who provided care and treatment for the children and young people.
The managers and staff spoken to were able to confirm how they obtained consent for care, and one member of staff said "the focus is the child, and we need to be flexible, if a child is unwell or wants to change the plan for a session, that is fine".
KIDS (South West) contracted with South Gloucestershire Council and was supported by it's Children's Health and Disability team (CHAD). Annual performance monitoring in the form of self assessment was undertaken, and continual feedback, training and guidance was received from the CHAD team.
