Date of Assessment: 5 to 18 December 2024. The service is a residential service providing support to younger adults living with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At our last inspection the service was in breach of regulations regarding safeguarding. The service had made improvements and is no longer in breach of regulations. Managers now made sure procedures were followed and when concerns were raised appropriate actions were taken. Staff understood and managed risks. Some additional information and control measures were found to be missing from some documentation. This was rectified during the assessment. There were sufficient and consistent staff to provide personalised care and support. Managers made sure staff received training. Staff supporting 1 person with a delegated task had not had their competency assessed by a health care professional. This was rectified during the assessment. The service had a good learning culture. Managers investigated incidents. People were protected and kept safe. Staff managed medicines well. Staff worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes. Staff made sure people understood their care to enable them to give informed consent. Staff involved those important to people to make decisions in people’s best interests where they did not have capacity. People were treated with kindness and compassion. People were involved in decisions about their care. The service provided information people could understand. Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were visible and staff felt supported by them.
