During a routine inspection
People were asked for consent before care and treatment was delivered. One person told us "staff always ask and they do their best." We saw that either the person themself or their legal representative had given signed consent to people's care plans.
People received care that was individual to their needs. A person told us "They (the staff) are all very caring'. We saw that care plans detailed people's daily care needs in plain English and included the person's likes and dislikes such as what time they liked to get up in the morning.
Both the people we spoke with told us they felt safe living at the home. We saw that staff had received appropriate training to be able to identify and report possible abuse. A member of staff told us "If someone went out and came back with an issue (any form of abuse) I would report it immediately. Anyone who works here would".
Staff received training appropriate to their role. We saw records of staff having received a range of training courses for example; caring for people with dementia.
There were systems in place to identify and manage risks to the health safety and welfare of people who used the service.
