During a routine inspection
Relatives told us that they were kept informed of their relative and what was happening in the home. They told us '.they always involve you'. 'The Lawns always keep me informed'.
People told us that there care needs were being met and if they had any concerns they felt comfortable to raise these with staff. People told us: 'I have got freedom here'. 'Staff help me to wash my hair and have a bath'. 'We sit in the foyer in evening and we will all chat together and they are all very happy' (residents). 'All the staff are wonderful'. 'Staff are like family they have all been good to me'. 'I feel confident that if something was not right it would be done. I don't worry who I raise it with'.
People were experiencing a wide range of social activities, entertainment and outings. People told us: 'We go out every month for a trip out in the bus'. 'We had a pantomime yesterday and last week'.
People told us they liked the food and we saw there were monitoring systems in place to make sure people continued to enjoy their meals.
Relatives told us: 'I came here and straight away I knew it was the place for dad. He moved in straight away and said he was happy'. 'It was the only home where they said 'we would like your dad to come for a morning or afternoon' and I thought it was a great idea'.
All people living at The Lawns had something positive to say about the care and services they were receiving. It was evident that the people living in the home were central to everything that was planned or provided at the home. People told us: 'There is a meeting every month for the residents it is excellent'. ' The whole atmosphere is good'.
