Grove Surgery

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out an announced inspection at The Grove Surgery from the 6 November to 12 December 2024. We carried out this assessment because there was a change of provider in April 2023. This will be the first assessment of the new provider. This assessment reviews the key questions for safe and effective, caring, responsive and well led. Grove Surgery is a GP practice which is registered for the regulated activities, diagnostic and screening procedures, family planning, maternity and midwifery services and treatment of disease, disorder or injury for approximately 10,800 patients. The overall rating for this assessment is requires improvement. This was because we found some aspects of the practice were not safe, and not always supported by good governance. For example, medicines management, response to safety alerts, assurances of clinical staff competency. In addition, the systems to support people’s care and treatment did not always support good outcomes or was inconsistent. The assessment has found breaches of regulations regarding safe and effective treatment, staffing competency and good governance.
