During an inspection looking at part of the service
We found that staff were recruited using appropriate procedures and that they received relevant training, supervision and support. We found that staff were aware of how to protect people from abuse or neglect and that relevant policies were in place to support this.
We saw that people received care and support that met their individual needs and that care planning systems described how they preferred to be supported by staff. We also saw that staff were knowledgable about people's specific needs and that risks were well managed. Plans were made to manage foreseeable emergencies that could affect people's care and support.
We saw that their consent was obtained for important decisions related to people's care and support. We also saw that if people could not consent, for example due to their learning disability, records were made to evidence that decisions made on their behalf were in people's best interests. We saw that appropriate systems were in place to assess the quality of the service and to ensure that any risks to people's safety and welfare were identified.
