During a routine inspection
During the inspection we spoke with the dentist, the dental nurse and with the receptionist. We reviewed one dental record, staff records, some of the practice's policies and procedures and their quality audits.
After our inspection we telephoned and spoke with six people who were registered with this dental practice. People told us that they had been using the practice for many years and were very satisfied with the service. People said that they were involved in decisions about their care and the dentist was very good at explaining any treatment. People told us they received advice on how to care for their mouth and teeth as part of their treatment. People we spoke with told us that the practice was clean and tidy.
The practice used informal methods to monitor overall patient satisfaction. People we spoke with said that they were happy with this arrangement as there was always sufficient time to discuss anything they wanted to at the time of their appointment.
All the staff working at the practice received training relevant to their role that supported them to meet the needs of people using the practice.
