During a routine inspection
We found that the decontamination procedures were in line with the national guidelines. Staff were thorough in carrying out decontamination processes and were knowledgeable as regular training was undertaken.
The practice manager and area manager told us that confidentiality was very important in the practice and the staff were all trained in information governance and signed confidentiality agreements. We found the records to be securely stored and contained all the information for the dentists to be able to make full oral health risk assessments. The audits proved a high level of compliance and issues were rapidly addressed.
The dentists told us that they followed national clinical guidelines in the recalling of patients and in their prescribing of antibiotics. The staff all told us that they were supported in their training and we found evidence of continuing professional development across the whole team.
