During an inspection in response to concerns
Information on dental treatment was available in the surgery via leaflets. People were given a copy of their treatment plan after they saw the dentist. The information in the treatment plans were clear.
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The dental nurse who was the lead for infection control had good knowledge of their policy and was able to describe and give a demonstration of the decontamination process. The surgery had staff meetings regularly where staff could discuss any issues including infection control. One person we spoke with said that the standard of cleanliness in the surgery was "faultless".The results from the patient satisfaction survey were in line with this with 80 out of 100 people rating it as excellent on cleanliness.
