During an inspection looking at part of the service
We also found that there was more awareness of the arrangements to ensure that incidents affecting the practice were reported to us.

Staff had received training to protect children and vulnerable adults from the risk of abuse. However we found a lack of understanding of how to report safeguarding concerns. Therefore people may have been left at risk if any concerns were not reported promptly. Everyone we spoke to said that the practice environment was clean when they visited. We found that there were effective procedures in use for the decontamination of dental instruments. We also found that quality monitoring systems were in place that included seeking the views of people using the service. We had not been informed about an incident in March 2013 which prevented the practice from providing a service to people. As the regulator of the service we should have been informed so that we could take any action if necessary.
