During a routine inspection
Records were in place to show staff took the medical history and other details about people prior to them racing, to ensure they were fit to race. Records were completed for each injured person.
The provider cooperated well with other agencies such as visiting medical staff and the local NHS ambulance service.
Medicines were stored in secure areas and records kept up to date of stock held. A record of medicines used on injured people was kept.
All equipment was clean, in working order and had valid maintenance certificates.Weekly cleaning schedules were in place.
The provider ensured suitable references were in place prior to commencement of a person's employment. Checks were made with suitable governing bodies to ensure each paramedic was fit to practice and had a valid driving licence.
The complaints process was on display. Staff were aware of how to bring it to people's attention should they require to make concerns known.
